10 ways to Impress a Guy

So you really want to do something special for your guy? Everybody needs to be pampered and surprised a little…even your men. Coming up with some ways to really make them happy can be harder then it looks though. Surprisingly enough, men love the little things almost as much as women. Be in tune with what your guy likes and try to do those things that interest him. Here are 10 ways to impress your guy:

1. Keep smiling always as it will melt his heart and will help relax both of you even in tense situations.

2. Guys appreciate fun loving girls. It won’t be a bad idea to talk to your guy in a casual manner once in a while.

3. Gone are the days when guys were always expected to make the first move. So don’t be shy and tell him what is in your heart and how do you feel about him.

4. Not just girls but guys also like to be flattered. Dish out that occasional compliment and watch what wonders it can do.

5. Just look at him in the eyes and smile for two seconds but do not stare.

6. Smell good. Wear a nice perfume as it will not only make you confident but will also make the guy attracted to you.

7. Having a certain level of intelligence and knowledge of the events happening around you will help you strike a meaningful conversation.

8. Compliment him. You could say, "I like your shirt," or, "I love your hair," but make it kind of casual, guys like feeling confident.

9. If you have noticed him glancing over at you or smiling at you, try dropping a hint or asking one of your friends to tell him that you like him.

10. Find out what he likes. Don't change yourself to become what he likes but find what you two have in common and talk about that.

Follow the simple tips given above and you will master the art of “How to Impress a Guy”.

10 Ways to Look Good in Photos.

1. Focus your eyes just slightly above the camera lens.

Move your face forward a bit, and tip down your chin.

2. Put your tongue behind your teeth and smile.

It will relax your face.

3. Keep your arms by your side.

But not glued there. To look natural, they should be a little away from your body.

4. Test-drive clothing against a white wall.

With an indirect, natural light source (under a tree, indoors near a window), it will show whether blue really is your best color.

5. As a rule, avoid patterns.

6. Photos exaggerate everything.

So go easy on the makeup. For women under 30, a little mascara and lip gloss; over 30, add a touch of concealer.

7. Practice the classic model pose.

Turn your body three quarters of the way toward the camera, with one foot in front of the other and one shoulder closer to the photographer. When you face forward, your body tends to look wider.

8. For standing photos:

Belly in, buttocks tight, shoulders back, spine straight.

9. Study photogenic people.

And look closely at photos in which you think you looked best. What was your best angle? You’ll probably see that you were laughing or having a good time. Capturing someone when they’re relaxed or most animated usually makes for the best results.

10. To feel at ease:

Try closing your eyes, then opening them slowly just before the photo is taken.

10 ways to Relieve Stress.

Stress is a change in the natural function of the body and mind. Falling in love, exercising, and living causes stress. The interpretation of these events determines whether they are viewed as a preferred or non-preferred stress.

Dis-ease occurs when non-preferred stress begins to affect our health. Stress appears initially as mental, emotional, or physical resistance. We have the ability to reduce non-preferred stress by telling ourselves and others how we feel and what we want. Stress says: slow down, ask for what we want, check our agreements, and take better care of ourselves.

1. Breathe, when you feel tense, take 10 slow, deep breaths in through your nose, out through your mouth.

2. Touch, hug someone, hold hands, stroke a pet, make non-sexual physical contact with people, brush your hair.

3. See the humor in life. Laugh at your self and life. Have fun and "play" at life.

4. Meditation 15 minutes a day. Take time to relax, sit, breathe deeply, quiet your mind. Record In-sights and dreams in a journal.

5. Communicate with friends. Spend time with each other. Share the good stuff.

6. Make a TO DO list of your agreements for each month. Schedule both play time and free time, and do both activities.

7. Say "NO" Allow yourself to say "NO" to some requests. Don't over commit yourself. Put yourself first; say YES to you.

8. You always have choices in life. Re-Order your priorities. If you are not happy, choose some- thing new.

9. Be honest with yourself con- cerning your fears. Ask for more information or assistance.

10. Only do your job. Do not get conned into permanently assuming another person's job responsibilities.

10 Easy Ways to Save Money.

Let’s keep this one simple and clean - just a bunch of relatively easy ways to save money. As you incorporate more and more of these tips into your life, the savings add up and it wouldn’t surprise me if you could save thousands over the course of a year.

It will take a little work on your part but those thousands of dollars in savings are what helped us get out of debt earlier, kept us out of debt for several years and will hopefully help us pay off our recent auto loan soon as well.

1. Simplify your wardrobe
Normal = Buying clothes that you like without looking at the wardrobe as a whole

Don’t buy clothes that will only work as one outfit. Look for clothes that you will be able to wear with many other things, creating multiple outfits. Instead of buying that green and purple striped coat that will only go with one or two outfits, you could get a solid color gray that will work most of what you wear. Spend less money on the trendy items that won’t be in style long, and spend more on quality items. You really can do this and still be stylish at the same time. Simplifying your wardrobe is just one way you can save money on clothes.

2. Make money with your clutter
Normal = Garage sale or throw away clutter

It is easier than you may think. eBay and Amazon.com make the process a breeze. Sign up for an account, take a few digital pictures, post it, and watch the buyers come to you. HINT: The biggest key I have noticed is selling brand name items and taking a few seconds to think, “If I wanted to buy this item, how would I search for it?” If you do this, you will be much more successful.

3. Buy generic products whenever possible:

Does it really matter whether your cereal is made by Kellogg's or is the store brand? Does it matter if your milk is Oak Farms or the store brand? For a few things (like soda in particular), I prefer brand name products. For others, I do not mind generic store brands if they can save me money. Find what works for you and switch to generic brands for at least a part of your grocery list.

4.Disconnect land line if possible:

Unless you have small kids in the house or older people to take care of, it is more than likely that you will be able to survive with only the mobile phones and can get rid of the land line. We have survived without any problems for over 4 years now with out a land line. Our Internet comes via cable.

5. Instead of buying books, borrow books from the library:

Whenever possible, borrow your books instead of buying them. The card to your public library is free and the libraries are generally well stocked. In my city, the chain of public libraries is connected and the available books can be checked online. If there is some book that I cannot find in my local branch, I can make a request online for it to be brought in from one of the other branches to mine which is very convenient.

6. Regulate your electric use:

When not in use, unplug electric appliances. Apparently, unplugging the TV instead of just switching it off can save a lot of electricity! When not in a room, switch off the lights and the fan. Use a programmable thermostat to control your A/C and heater usage. If that's too much, at least know what each appliance uses and unplug a few of them.

7. Regularly Shop Insurance Rates:

Regardless of who you buy from, you can be abnormal and save money by shopping around every year or so for insurance. I have saved over $530/year for the same coverage by getting car insurance quotes on a regular basis. Now there is something to be said for finding a top-rated insurance company – it may not be worth saving $50/year to switch to a terrible company, so use your own judgement.

8. Book early:
Low-cost airlines have created a market in holidays for people prepared to fly to any destination provided it's cheap. You can benefit from this too. Just remember, only a few seats on each flight are sold at bargain-basement prices and once they're sold, the prices rise. So book early.

9. Trim your cell phone costs

The economy stinks for you, but it really stinks for providers of services that can easily be scaled back—like cell phone providers. On the one hand, they may fight harder to keep you paying for data plans, text messages, and other "value added" items, but they really, truly don't want to lose you as a customer. If you can't re-negotiate a better deal, though, take a tip from PC Magazine columnist Sascha Segan and cut your phone bill by actually jumping ship (to a pay-as-you-go phone), then let them come crawling back with a package pitch. Stuck in a contract with a huge cancellation fee? Check out contract-swapping sites like CellTradeUSA.com and CellSwapper.com, which make use of (legal!) trade clauses and might just help you escape your monthly vig.

10. Don’t go shopping at high end grocery stores:

It’s overpriced and you can get everything you need at cheaper groceries stores. There’s a reason why they call stores like Whole Foods, ‘Whole Paycheck’.

10 ways to ANNOY PEOPLE.

1. Sing the Batman theme incessantly.

2. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for sensual massage."

3. Insist that your drive-through order is "to go."

4. Learn Morse code, and have conversations with friends in public consisting entirely of "Beeeep Bip Bip Beeeep Bip..."

5. If you have a glass eye, tap on it occasionally with your pen while talking to others.

6. Amuse yourself for endless hours by hooking a camcorder to your TV and then pointing it at the screen.

7. Speak only in a "robot" voice.

8. Push all the flat Lego pieces together tightly.

9. Start each meal by conspicuously licking all your food, and announce that this is so no one will "swipe your grub."

10. Leave the copy machine set to reduce 200%, extra dark, 17 inch paper, 99 copies.

11. Stomp on little plastic ketchup packets.

12. Sniff incessantly.

13. Leave your turn signal on for fifty miles.

14. Name your dog "Dog."

15. Insist on keeping your car windshield wipers running in all weather conditions "to keep them tuned up."

16. Reply to everything someone says with "that's what YOU think."

17. Claim that you must always wear a bicycle helmet as part of your "astronaut training."

18. Declare your apartment an independent nation, and sue your neighbors upstairs for "violating your airspace."

19. Forget the punchline to a long joke, but assure the listener it was a "real hoot."

20. Follow a few paces behind someone, spraying everything they touch with a can of Lysol.

21. Practice making fax and modem noises.

22. Highlight irrelevant information in scientific papers and copy them to your boss.

23. Make beeping noises when a large person backs up.

24. Invent nonsense computer jargon in conversations, and see if people play along to avoid the appearance of ignorance.

25. Erect an elaborate network of ropes in your backyard, and tell the neighbors you are a "spider person."

26. Finish all your sentences with the words "in accordance with prophesy."

27. Wear a special hip holster for your remote control.

28. Do not add any inflection to the end of your sentences, producing awkward silences with the impression that you'll be saying more at any moment.

29. Signal that a conversation is over by clamping your hands over your ears.

30. Disassemble your pen and "accidentally" flip the ink cartridge across the room.

31. Give a play-by-play account of a person's every action in a nasal Howard Cossell voice.

32. Holler random numbers while someone is counting.

10 Ways to Lose Weight.

Sure, you can lose weight quickly. There are plenty of fad diets that work to shed pounds rapidly -- while leaving you feeling hungry and deprived. But what good is losing weight only to regain it? To keep pounds off permanently, it's best to lose weight slowly. And many experts say you can do that without going on a "diet." Instead, the key is making simple tweaks to your lifestyle.
One pound of fat -- is equal to 3,500 calories.  By shaving 500 calories a day through dietary and exercise modifications, you can lose about a pound a week. If you only need to maintain your current weight, shaving 100 calories a day is enough to avoid the extra 1-2 pounds most adults gain each year.

Adopt one or more of these simple, painless strategies to help lose weight without going on a "diet":

  1. Eat Breakfast Every Day. One habit that's common to many people who have lost weight and kept it off is eating breakfast every day. "Many people think skipping breakfast is a great way to cut calories, but they usually end up eating more throughout the day, says Elizabeth Ward, MS, RD, author of The Pocket Idiot's Guide to the New Food Pyramids.  "Studies show people who eat breakfast have lower BMIs than breakfast-skippers and perform better, whether at school or in the boardroom." Try a bowl of whole-grain cereal topped with fruit and low-fat dairy for a quick and nutritious start to your day.

  2. Close the Kitchen at Night. Establish a time when you will stop eating so you won't give in to the late-night munchies or mindless snacking while watching television. "Have a cup of tea, suck on a piece of hard candy or enjoy a small bowl of light ice cream or frozen yogurt if you want something sweet after dinner, but then brush your teeth so you will be less likely to eat or drink anything else," suggests Elaine Magee, MPH, RD, WebMD's "Recipe Doctor" and the author of Comfort Food Makeovers.

  3. Choose Liquid Calories Wisely. Sweetened drinks pile on the calories, but don't reduce hunger like solid foods do.  Satisfy your thirst with water, sparkling water with citrus, skim or low-fat milk, or small portions of 100% fruit juice. Try a glass of nutritious and low-calorie vegetable juice to hold you over if you get hungry between meals. Be careful of alcohol calories, which add up quickly.  If you tend to drink a glass or two of wine or a cocktail on most days, limiting alcohol to the weekends can be a huge calorie saver.

  4. Eat More Produce.  Eating lots of low-calorie, high-volume fruits and vegetables crowds out other foods that are higher in fat and calories. Move the meat off the center of your plate and pile on the vegetables. Or try starting lunch or dinner with a vegetable salad or bowl of broth-based soup, suggests Barbara Rolls, PhD, author of The Volumetrics Eating Plan. The U.S. government's 2005 Dietary Guidelines suggest that adults get 7-13 cups of produce daily. Ward says that's not really so difficult: "Stock your kitchen with plenty of fruits and vegetables and at every meal and snack, include a few servings," she says. "Your diet will be enriched with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber, and if you fill up on super-nutritious produce, you won't be reaching for the cookie jar."

  5. Go for the Grain.  By substituting whole grains for refined grains like white bread, cakes, cookies, and pretzels, you add much-needed fiber and will fill up faster so you're more likely to eat a reasonable portion. Choose whole-wheat breads and pastas, brown rice, bran flakes, popcorn, and whole-rye crackers.

  6. Control Your Environments.  Another simple strategy to help cut calories is to control your environment -- everything from stocking your kitchen with lots of healthy options to choosing the right restaurants. That means avoiding the temptation by staying away from all-you-can-eat restaurants.  And when it comes to parties, "eat a healthy snack before so you won't be starving, and be selective when you fill your plate at the buffet," suggests Ward.  Before going back for more food, wait at least 15 minutes and have a big glass of water.

  7. Trim Portions. If you did nothing else but reduce your portions by 10%-20%, you would lose weight. Most of the portions served both in restaurants and at home are bigger than you need.  Pull out the measuring cups to get a handle on your usual portion sizes, and work on paring them down.  Get instant portion control by using small bowls, plates, and cups, says Brian Wansink, PhD, author of Mindless Eating. You won't feel deprived because the food will look plentiful on dainty dishware.

  8. Add More Steps. Get yourself a pedometer and gradually add more steps until you reach 10,000 per day. Throughout the day, do whatever you can to be more active -- pace while you talk on the phone, take the dog out for an extra walk, and march in place during television commercials.  Having a pedometer serves as a constant motivator and reminder.

  9. Have Protein at Every Meal and Snack.  Adding a source of lean or low-fat protein to each meal and snack will help keep you feeling full longer so you're less likely to overeat. Try low-fat yogurt, small portion of nuts, peanut butter, eggs, beans, or lean meats. Experts also recommend eating small, frequent meals and snacks (every 3-4 hours), to keep your blood sugar levels steady and to avoid overindulging.

  10. Switch to Lighter Alternatives. Whenever you can, use the low-fat versions of salad dressings, mayonnaise, dairy products, and other products.  "You can trim calories effortlessly if you use low-fat and lighter products, and if the product is mixed in with other ingredients, no one will ever notice," says Magee. More smart substitutions: Use salsa or hummus as a dip; spread sandwiches with mustard instead of mayo; eat plain roasted sweet potatoes instead of loaded white potatoes; use skim milk instead of cream in your coffee; hold the cheese on sandwiches; and use a little vinaigrette on your salad instead of piling on the creamy dressing.
